I have been in the studio running my hand
softly over a painting I am working on,
feeling the layers, texture.
It seems a daily presentation — all I can do.
Be quiet, do not react. Be quiet. Meditate.
It is not yet 9 a.m.

Mockingbird has lost it’s mock
A poet that can not talk
The singer without a tune
A howler without the moon
If Mockingbird forgets it’s chatter
And a poet stumbles over her words
The singer’s hum gets lost in the wind
Hound dog lays down his head again
Mockingbird forgets it’s song
Laying her head upon a stone
The world is flat
Hope has gone

drought expands
in my mind
at your hand
throughout the acres
in our hearts
dust gathers
where memories grew
now withered thoughts
from this drought of you

It is what it is
And that is all there is
Amen.
I brought you seeds
You gave me flowers
Hello. Thank you so much for reading my entries from long ago. I’m happy you have enjoyed reading these. My only advice is to be more consistent than I have been.
